María Ignacia Alcalá Sucre holds a degree in Social Communication (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello) and two master’s degrees in Creative and Cultural Industries (University Paris 8) and thus worked on two master’s theses, directed by Maxime Cervulle, focused on photographic practices of young Latin-American au pairs and photographic practices of Syrian refugees and asylum seekers in France. Her thesis – codirected by Alexandra Saemmer and Maxime Cervulle – continues to explore her last researche subject to study interactions between photographic practices, representations and migratory processes.
