Michael Cronin
Researcher invited in 2014
Researcher in Translation Studies
Michael Cronin is an Irish researcher and Professor of Translation Studies at Dublin City University.
He had a deep influence on the field, especially thanks to his work on translation and globalization. His research contributed to the scientific founding of the field of "Cultural Translation", particularly his theoretical work developed in Translation and Globalisation (Routledge, 2003) then Translation and Identity (Routledge, 2006), in which Michael Cronin shows how translation conveys social transformations.
As part of his status of chair in 2014, he will take part in the project Collaborative Translations led by Céline Frigau and Anthony Cordingley and will significantly contribute to their approach "Thinking translation".
