Nikolaus Müller-Schöll
Researcher invited in 2013
Professor of Theater Studies
Nikolaus Müller-Schöll is a professor of Theater Studies at the University of Frankfurt. He is particularly interested in contemporary and modern creation as an aesthetic and political action.
His research focuses on contemporary tendancies in theater and media, at a crossroads between theater, literature, philosophy and politics. His work is also inspired by debates on The Fiction of the Political (Lacoue-Labarthe/Nancy), reduction of the notion of life in modern age (Foucault/Agamben), the ambivalence of theatrical illusion (Biet/Mannoni/Derrida) and the development of another way of thinking possibility (Heidegger/Benjamin/Deleuze).
He will take part in the Hybrid Conferences program with a conference on post-traumatic in theater and cinema.
