This book was born from the ideas of researchers, artists and critical thinking of young researchers developed during a seminar about research on photography and contemporary art. This work is not a series of texts, but a true combination of artists’ ideas and new theoretical thinking of young researchers.

"Photography between arts" enabled to make photography a reference art from which notions related to other forms of art could be projected and developed, by necessarily activating mediums specifics. "Photography in action(s)" led to erase boundaries between mediums and to tink photography differently.

A signing session will be organized on November 16th, from 3:30 until 4:30 at the Grand Palais, as part of the Paris Photo exhibition.

The problematic notion of action appeared and led to consider photography as a visual and linguistic object that needs the collaboration of new epistemological fields. Thanks to an active methodology between research and creation, this book was created by defying the image and the language and developing a new theoretical thinking which should be able to open up to other works, research, creation in photography and from photography.

The seminar Photography between arts ; repeating, reproducing, representing / transcribing, passing on then Photography in action(s) were held between 2010 and 2013 with the universities Paris 8, Paris 1 and the INHA.
