Zaven Paré is an artist roboticist. He is behind the first electronic puppets used in theatre and he received the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) grant as collaborator of the Robot Actors Project as soon as it was created within the professor Ishiguro Hiroshi’s laboratory at the University of Osaka and the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International of Kyoto. Documents and puppets related to his work are featured in collections of the California Institute for the Arts Library, the Ballard Institute in Connectitut, the Museum of World Puppets in Lyon, the Museo internazionale delle marionette in Palerme and soon at the Museum of Ethnology of Neuchâtel.
